In her own words: “Education is not JUST about academics. In order for a child to do well academically, they have to be supported emotionally and mentally as well. Mental Health plays such a huge role in being successful in any aspect of your life, including Education.”

Well said, Ashley!

A born and raised Maryland gal, and mom of two incredible children, she loves the beauty of experiencing all four seasons. There is something wonderful when you get to experience each season in one place like Maryland.

Ashley is our Family Success Manager and a fantastic Executive Function Coach, so if you register your child to any of our services, you’ll be hearing from her and she’ll guide you through the process flawlessly.

Keep reading, so you’ll know her a little better, who inspires her in her career, what’s her favorite thing about Wright Academics, and more!

Let’s get started!

  1.     What got you interested originally in your current business and work?

After graduating with my Bachelors, I knew I wanted to work with kids but not be “stuck” to a classroom. I received my Masters of Education with a focus in School Counseling. Shortly after graduating, I found out I was pregnant with my daughter and knew that I was going to stay home with her. Following an old time friend on IG (and now co-worker- YEAH SAM!), I learned about Wright Academics and knew this was going to be a great fit for me. It was the perfect combination of working with children, teaching, but also just being someone who they can open up to and trust. When you work in the education field, you have to be able to wear several different hats, and Wright Academics has the perfect balance with all of it.

  1.     Who or what inspires you in your career?

My past, current, and future students. They’re amazing and have helped shape who I am as an educator today.

  1.     What’s something you want more people to know about?

Education is not JUST about academics. In order for a child to do well academically, they have to be supported emotionally and mentally as well. Mental Health plays such a huge role in being successful in any aspect of your life, including Education. I feel as a society we start to zone in on academics, and sometimes we need to step back and make sure our students are in a good place.

  1. What’s your favorite thing about Wright Academics?

I really love the tight-knit community that we are. At the end of a stressful workday… I know I will always have my Admin team to lean on and my students there to make me smile.

  1. What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

I can’t just pick one, so I chose my top 4: My kids, my husband, and running. Being with my family really fills my cup and running is my therapy. It always makes me feel like a better person. Oh, and coffee (especially Dunkin’ Donuts).

Thank you, Ashley, for these great answers. I loved your top four things that make your day and life better!
